The four-volume series Government and State in Israel According to the Torah, by Rabbi Naftali Bar-Ilan zt”l, has been published in a newly edited edition by the Eretz Hemdah Institute. The series addresses contemporary challenges facing the independent Jewish state.

Among the topics discussed are democratic and monarchical systems of government, the rule of law, separation of powers, judicial review, integrity in government, fiscal and monetary policy, welfare services, the national healthcare basket, environmental protection, principles of punishment, international law, the Geneva Convention, human dignity and liberty, personal development, civil rights and freedoms, and many other issues.

The series was awarded the Rabbi Kook Prize and the Rabbi Yisraeli Prize of the Eretz Hemdah Institute.
